It is these types of issues that are ridiculous.ĭespite all of its faults, Roxio is still a pretty good swiss-army knife. On EMC9 I was forced to use a freeware CD/DVD burner because you could not specifiy multiple copies when burning a CD or DVD. I find it way too unacceptable that a software vendor such as Roxio that has made gazillions of dollars over the years, has problems such as this. So.While I wish that Roxio would anticipate the many scenarios that their customers may encounter (mine was not that much out of the ordinary) and get the problems fixed, it has forced me to seek out alternate solutions. I had Pinnacle USB710 and a Pinnacle PCI-500 card. I will say that the Roxio USB capture device is the most reliable hardware I have had thus far. I can still use the USB 2861 Roxio capture device. It has not lost a signal (Roxio did repeatedly) and is easier to use and more responsive. While I cannot capture with it (C2009) because of that Signal Protected error, I have found a more reliable capture software package (Ulead Video Studio). Since I don't need the LP capture feature and some of the others that the VHS to DVD software has, I just re-installed C2009. You are not the only poster reporting that problem/bug!
If you encounter a driver problem post back and someone could post a link for different drivers. Your C2009 should work fine with the VHS to DVD USB Capture Device (same device). There are C2009 packages Bundled with the USB Capture Device.
Here is the USB Capture Device Bundled with Easy VHS to DVD. Here is the USB Capture Device working with C2009. You either have C2009 or Easy VHS to DVD installed, not both. I understand you just fine, I'm afraid your not understanding me! If so, I can still use C2009 and VHS to DVD capture hardware.
So, what I will try now is to install the C2009 and see if the VHS to DVD drivers remain intact. It is easy to use and it works.įurthermore, it allows me to capture onto my new 1.5 terabyte hard drive. I am using the Roxio capture device except with ULEAD Video Studio as the capture software. However, last night, I found a workaround.
I had C2009 first, then bought the Roxio VHS to DVD and that it where my problems started. I think the hardware you have (while it appears exactly the same) may be able to be used with C2009 if it was purchased as the C2009 and hardware package combo. It is an individual package, purchased separate from C2009 (Creator 2009). in addition to already having C2009 installed. I think I know why you are not understanding me. I don't, I said with C2009! The capture Device is available click here I have a boatload of VHS and VHS-C tapes and I need to make this process as efficiemt as I can. I would appreciate any tips amyone may have. It's not that I don't enjoy watching the old movies but I would like to set it and come back in an hour. In otherwords, I must babysit the capture process. However, the problem I am encountering thus far is that it will lose signal whenever there is a gap between scenes of more than a second or two.
I am capturing a home movie from 1983 as I type. Did you buy the C2009 with the capture hardware? So, how are you able to run both products successfully.
When I installed the easy VHS to DVD software, it uninstalled the full version of C2009 that I already had installed. I purchased each of these products separately. I am using the USB extension cable (adapter) that came with Roxio easy VHS to DVD. I am using a VCR outputing into the cables that were provided in the VHS to DVD package. What I would like to know how do you "only using the cable that came with the VHS to DVD pacakage" ? I use Easy Audio Capture, Roxio LP and Tape Assistant, and Roxio Media Import in C2009. It does for me capturing DVD, VHS, CD, cassette, and Radio. I'm about to scrap the whole PC capture angle and just use a VHS/DVD combo recorder instead. I am at the end of my rope on finding a reliable VHS capture solution. Otherwise, this VHS to DVD pacakage is going back for a refund.
Is there a patch that will allow me to run Creator 2009 without getting the signal protected error? I am only trying to capture home movies from VHS when I got this signal protected error. So, I installed the VHS to DVD software and it is uninstalling my Creator 2009. I found a patch that is supposed to fix this issue but it is not for Creator 2009. WHen I went into Creator 2009 to try a capture I got a signal protected error. I followed the instructions and did NOT install the easy VHS to DVD software. During the course of trying out several video capture solutions I decided to try out the Easy VHS to DVD free-standing off the shelf package. I bought and installed Roxio Creator 2009 a month or so ago and installed the SP3 service pack.
